Studying for the PHR and SPHR exams can be a nightmare. Typically individuals seeking certification will enroll in an instructional course in addition to purchasing textbooks and study guides. Audio on tape (or in this case, lectures on CD) is a convenient way to digest material at one's own pace, or while multitasking (such as during a commute or while exercising). Included in this set of audio compact discs is the information needed to pass the PHR and SPHR exams both efficiently and highly effectively. Each of the six audio discs are approximately 80 minutes in run-time and together the key components and information areas of the exams are covered, including: employee development, worker compensation, benefits planning and administration, equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations, OSHA and compliance, understanding and working with unions, training, regulations imposed by compensation law, affirmative action policy, workplace safety and management of incidents of injury, the National Labor Relations Act, and much more. Additional inclusions are a supplemental DVD lecture and a data disc containing more traditional pen-and-paper study aids.
The quality of the system's educational comtent is matched by the product quality. This set includes thermal pressed (silver bottom) discs identical to those you would purchase in a retail store. Additionally, the content is catered directly toward the structure and historical content of the exams. A text book is often a good supplement, however these discs facilitate the learning a classroom may provide, and in many ways the oration of the content may help test-takers absorb the information with greater ease than more conventional methods. Similar learning systems have sold for several hundred dollars. Please note that this is not the learning system published by SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), but many buyers have stated it to be equally effective and essential to their successfull testing for PHR or SPHR certifications.
