Hi! I'm part of a smaller, Panhellenic sorority on this campus, and we are ALWAYS looking to meet some really outstanding women, regardless of their class year, race, hair color, etc!

If you kind of wish you had gone Greek, are still considering maybe doing so, or just have questions about it, please feel free to respond to this ad.

Some Points to Think On:

1. We recruit much differently than most sororities, and we're definitely not a stereotypical bunch of sorority girls. We've got engineers, future doctors, future lawyers, and a little bit of everyone!

2. We definitely like to have fun and do a lot of your "normal" sorority activities (think barn dance, exchanges, and really awesome philanthropy events). However, we truly like to focus on leadership, academics, and making ourselves into truly outstanding women for the future.

3. We really like to KNOW people before we ask them to be our sisters. A bid from us is not based on a 5 minute conversation with two women during formal recruitment. Becoming a sister to us is a huge decision for all parties and not something we like doing in haste.

4. Our sorority was founded in 1913 by women who weren't allowed into other sororities because they didn't fit a certain mold. Our chapter still sort of adheres to that tradition...

Many of our members were the kind of women who wouldn't even consider going Greek when they got to U of I, and here they are now. Knowing us can change your perception of what "sorority" means.

P.S. If you're wondering why I'm posting on Craigslist, know that it is because we believe that having a diverse group of women is to our benefit. We look everywhere for quality women who might add to our organization, and it doesn't always hurt to be unconventional.
